Sitter Academy by Babysitting Connection is a two-day, hands-on training designed to prepare babysitters with the skills, confidence, and professionalism parents trust.
Participants will learn:
- Child development
- Behavior management
- Digital and home safety
- Meal prep
- Special-situation care
- CPR and First Aid (certification included)
The program includes real-life, supervised infant care—diapers, bottles, bathing, and daily routines—along with practical training on running a babysitting business, communicating with parents, and showing up prepared. Sitter Academy equips sitters with both the caregiving expertise and business know-how needed to stand out and succeed.

Day 1
- 8:30am-9:00am – Welcome, Introductions and Overview of schedule
- 9:00am-11:00am – Child Development basics, engaging activities, behavior management and deescalation and digital safety.
- 11:00am-12:00pm – Meal Prep, food options, kitchen safety
- 12:00pm-12:30pm – Lunch
- 12:30pm-2:30pm – CPR Certification and First Aid
- 2:30pm-3:30pm – General safety, safe sleep, pool safety, spills and messes, special situations and wrap up!
Day 2
- 8:30am-9:00am – Touch base, recap and schedule for the day
- 9:00am-12:p0am – Diapers, bottles, bathing and caring for babies. We will have real babies here!
- 12:00pm-12:30pm – Lunch
- 12:30pm-1:00pm – Helping around the house
- 1:00pm-3:00pm – Running the business: business plans, models, building your business and communication with parents
- 3:00pm – 3:30pm – Wrap up and send off

Whether you need full-time care, part-time help, or just a sitter for a few days a week, our trusted, vetted summer babysitters provide engaging, one-on-one care that keeps kids active, entertained, and safe at home or on fun outings
Requirements to join the program include:
- Babysitting Connection membership
- Flexible childcare – Book care for 1-6 weeks based on your needs.
- No long-term commitment – You only book for the weeks you need.
- Matching takes 1-2 weeks, so sign up early!
- No minimum booking requirement – Schedule care for a full day, half-day, or specific times.
- No trial sit required – Matches are made directly.
And the best part? You can still schedule a babysitter outside of your Summer Camp Sitter hours if you need additional coverage.

SUMMER CAMP SITTERS FAQ'S
Our Summer Camp Sitter matches range from 1 week to 3 months in duration. After your match ends, you can continue with our Consistent Care program which is a bit more in-depth and hopes to match you with only one sitter for all the hours you need.
Because you are booking with a sitter consistently, we recommend offering a higher hourly rate than you would pay to a sporadic sitter you book through our system. While you do not have to offer a higher hourly rate, you cannot offer a lower rate. You can see our rates here and then decide what your family is willing to pay.
You aren’t able to meet or interview our sitters because demand is so high and we thoroughly vet our sitters before matching them with your family. Based on all the information we have about your family, what sitter qualities you are looking for, and what hours of childcare you need, we do all the hard work of finding the best fit! We take the stress out of all the sitter interviews and summer camp outreaches you would normally have to do.
The matching process typically takes at least two weeks depending on your specific schedule, children’s ages, and location. We recommend booking any sitters you need through our system while we are working to find you someone consistent if needed.
There is no additional fee to join this program. However, you must be on the appropriate membership level to cover all the sits you are booking with your sitter(s) each month. Just like every Babysitting Connection member, you will be paying your sitter their hourly rate directly. We recommend offering a higher hourly rate than is listed in our rates section because you are asking for a higher level of commitment. While you do not have to offer a higher hourly rate, you cannot offer a lower rate.

Sitter academy cost
The cost for the 2 day class is $400 and includes all training, take home material, CPR Certification, beverages and lunches.
